Manifesto Update 1 of the Week - Website

By Benjamin Leatham

Considering its ELECTION Week (vote now I thought it would be a good idea to update you all on my manifesto points! I am going to be addressing 3 of my manifesto points each day this week to break them down into sizeable chunks. Here we gooooo

1.) Update the YUSU website so it's less clogged up and easier to navigate.

This happened at the start of this term! There are still areas that are being continuously updated but on the whole it is now a lot more accessible and looks pretty and shiny! Check it out Any feedback welcome!

2.) Start an official petition site and get the relevant members of the university and YUSU to meet with the organisers if a signature threshold is reached.
3.) Re-think YUSU weekly emails. How about an email preference system where you can choose what YUSU emails you about?

This coming summer the whole YUSU website is being transferred to a new digital platform created by the NUS. This new platform is designed for Students’ Unions and as part of this change we will be adding:
- A petition site.
- An updated newsletter system that allows designed and targeted emails.
- And many more features! It’s going to be fabulous.

These points haven't been addressed as quickly as I had hoped but we have been waiting on the NUS to update their platform so it can work in the York context (e.g. College elections).

Any questions let me know!

That’s it for today. Check in tomorrow for another update
